I am a licensed and certified independent health insurance agent and the owner of Cohen Health Insurance, a business I have successfully operated for almost a decade.
Gabby
Her given name is Gabriella, but we call her Gabby; Jody is the only one who calls her Gabby Goo or Goo Goo. As long as there’s food that she likes, she’ll answer. Her favorite purr-son is Marc, her “dad” but she does let Jody and Garric pet her. Gabby runs the office and the house wonderfully and deals with cat-a-strophic issues…by napping. She’s a great assistant when she isn’t sleeping, which is most of the day. Gabby isn’t much of a people person and she’s not too keen on doing “kneads” analyses.
Baby Cat
Her given name is Samayach but we call her Baby Cat or Baby. She loves attention and being petted. Her favorite hangout is sleeping on Jody’s desk while she’s working. Her tail has its own life and sometimes gets in the way of business. Samayach has no loyalty; if there is someone who will devote time to loving her, then she’ll abandon you in a second. Background & Professional Experience
I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, where I developed strong roots and a deep appreciation for community. After completing my education at Youngstown State University, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Journalism. I worked at several radio stations as news reporter and director and d.j. for about six years and then lived and travelled overseas. I worked in a variety of fields before finding my passion in the healthcare industry. My academic background, combined with experience in teaching, office management and administration, and customer service, has provided me with a well-rounded skill set that I now apply to my work in health insurance.
My career in health insurance began when I responded to an online job ad and was hired as an assistant by an agent who was expanding his agency by supporting other agents. In this position, I managed marketing, contracting, and recruiting responsibilities. After a year in this role, I obtained my state license and founded Cohen Health Insurance while continuing to work part-time and homeschool my son.
Drawing on my expertise in communications, I strive to help others find the best health insurance solutions for their needs. I assist individuals on Medicare as they navigate their Medicare choices, as well as those who do not qualify for Medicare, ensuring everyone receives guidance and support tailored to their unique circumstances.
After having lived in several different states and in Israel for two years, I personally understand the importance of having access to affordable health care in America. My passion is to help others. I am active in my community, volunteer with several organizations, and am the block watch captain of my neighborhood. By finding the best Medicare plan for those who qualify, it allows me the opportunity to continue helping others.
